Gwyneth "Wynnie" Callegari, an adored Golden Retriever passed away in her home surrounded by her beloved family on November 21, 2020.
At the beginning of her life she was very sick and had been surrendered to a shelter with a litter of her sick puppies. Her puppies all passed away but Wynnie persevered. She went on to live a long life with her parents Chris and Taylor Callegari.
She was a steadfast companion who watched her parents get married, and bring home three of her most treasured babies. She was a dutiful "mama" to their three children Lola, Isla and Rowan.
She stood guard every day of Taylor's pregnancies and every day of the childrens' lives up until the day she crossed the rainbow bridge.
She was a best friend to Chris, and took countless rock-climbing trips with him as they camped and hiked the great outdoors. She enjoyed swimming in lakes, rivers and streams and making friends with every human along the way.
She was a decorated dog, she took a test and passed with flying colors, making her a certified American Kennel Club's Good Citizen Canine, which made her family very proud.
Last year, Wynnie and her dad Chris took a cross country trip by car from their old home in Holly Springs, North Carolina to their new home of Olympia, Washington. She was notorious for escaping her yard every now and then to pay a friendly visit to her neighbors and to take a dip in the nearby creek. Everyone adored Wynnie, even those who didn't love dogs. She had so many friends in her former home in North Carolina, and had already made friends in her new home.
Wynnie will be missed beyond measure. She leaves a void as big as the sun. Forever and ever loved, everyone's Golden Girl.
