Mildred A. Perchinsky

Mildred A. Poye Perchinsky, 88, of Bentleyville passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 in her home.

She was born February 7, 1933 in Library, a daughter of Tony Poye, Sr. and Justine Shuster Poye.

Mrs. Perchinsky was a 1951 graduate of Ellsworth High School.

She worked at Troutman's Department Store and Sears.

In 1981, she graduated from the Waynesburg Practical Nursing School and worked at St. Clair Hospital in Upper St. Clair for 14 years.

She was a life-time member of the St. Luke Parish in Bentleyville, which later became Ave Maria Parish, and is now Saint Katharine Drexel Parish. She sang in the parish choir and was active in helping with the parish fish fries.

Mrs. Perchinsky was a current member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Dolores No. 1675.

She also served as president of the Christian Mothers at St. Luke and was the secretary of the Somerset School PTA.

She made quilts for each grandchild as they married and loved to paint oil paintings, which she gave as gifts and sold.

On May 25, 1952, she married Stephen W. Perchinsky, who passed away February 26, 2021.

Mrs. Perchinsky and her husband started the Rosary Makers Organization, which sent over 45,000 Rosaries to missionaries worldwide.

Surviving are her children Stephen (Terrie Lynn, deceased), Ronald Sr. (Cheryl), Cynthia Sarbak (Matthew), Judith Lowman (Alan), and Linda Stumpf; grandchildren, Shannon Robertson (Brett), Lauren Knopp (Tim), Jennifer Ursic (Bill), Jamie Ball (Brian), Michael Lloyd (Lindsay), Ronald Perchinsky Jr., Troy Perchinsky (Kristen), Cory Perchinsky, Colton Perchinsky (Karissa), Andrew Stumpf, Nicole Stumpf, and Katie Grace Stumpf; great-grandchildren Taylor Pelissero, Annie Pelissero, Ronald Perchinsky, Meadow Perchinsky, Kai Perchinsky, Gracie Stumpf, Aiden Lloyd, and Aubrey Lloyd; three sisters, Mary Striker (William) of Monessen, Joanne Stimmel of Washington and Barbara Keene of Elco and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her brothers, Joseph Thomas Poye and Anthony "Sonny" Poye.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, September 28, 2021 followed at 12:30 p.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Katharine Drexel, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, with the Reverend Donald Chortos, as celebrant.

At the church, non-vaccinated individuals are required to wear masks or facial coverings and social distancing will be maintained.

Interment will follow in St. Luke Cemetery, Bentleyville for the Rite of Committal service.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will pray the Rosary at 7 p.m. Monday.

Andrew,
I feel so terrible not being able to see bunna for the last time because of work and ride situations. But I send my condolences and know that'll we'll see her again one day. I will truly miss her and always remember she is watching over us and now and happy pain free with pap so you will be missed by all of us. Watch over our family. Love you bunna.
